To how it used to be

Morning woke up
Stomach ache
Door slamming
Voices raised
Head started to throb
Left house for Queensway with Yh
Head still throbbing
Did a bit of work
Walked around with Yh after that and she headed for dinner
The place where she got lost after going to the toilet
Silly girl (who never fails to make me smile)
Harbourfront to find Mum
And present
Dinner, stoned
Head throbbing like crazy
Till now

moving all around screaming of the ups and downs
pollution manifested in perpetual sound
the wheels go round and the sunset creeps behind
street lamps, chain-link and concrete
a little piece of paper with a picture drawn floats
on down the street till the wind is gone
the memory now is like the picture was then
when the paper's crumpled up it can't be perfect again.
